Research over the last few years has discovered that our microbiome, that is the ecosystem of bacteria, viruses and fungi that resides on our skin and predominantly in our guts, is the core of our overall health and impacts virtually every system in the body. With links between an imbalanced microbiome and many physical and even mental health conditions through the gut-brain link, it’s becoming absolutely clear that to function at our best we have to pay attention to our gut health.


What causes poor gut health?

Many factors can contribute to an imbalanced microbiome along with a corresponding lack of diversity of gut bacteria. Our Western diets with insufficient fruit, vegetables and fibre – too much sugar, saturated fats, processed food and takeaways all can have an impact. Additionally, environmental factors such as pollution, pesticides, cleaning products and cosmetics, as well as antibiotics and pharmaceutical drugs.
Stress, poor sleep and an ever increasing sedentary lifestyle compound this.

An imbalance in our microbiome has been linked to the following physical and mental conditions:

21 Day Gut Health Program

Why?

Our western diet combined with a more sedentary lifestyle, chronic stress, medication and pollution all have a negative impact on our gut health, which in turn results in many physical and mental conditions.

How?

I’m delighted to have experienced the benefits of and to recommend the Synergy Worldwide 21 Day Gut Health program. With clinically formulated supplements, along with a healthy diet – this 3 week program begins the purification of your microbiome to re-balance your ‘good’ and ‘bad’ bacteria and re-set your system.

Benefits

There are many benefits that have resulted from an improvement in gut health during and after the 21 Day Gut Health Program including: improved sleep, better energy levels and mood, more regular bowel movements, better skin and hair quality, less bloating and weight loss are just some of the benefits that have been experienced during and after the 21 days.

This relatively straightforward plan seeks to re-set your gut health, by eradicating processed and inflammatory foods, (e.g sugar and refined carbs), whilst increasing plant based fibre and proteins. This is combined with pre and probiotics and glutamine rich supplements to promote gut repair and re-balancing of the microbiome.


Days 1 – 5 Prime

The program begins with a gradual reduction of certain foods including: Alcohol, Caffeine, Sugar, Carbohydrates, Wheat and processed foods, with supplements to Prime the system and prepare you for the detox.

Days 6-12 Purify

The most intense part of the program, a full 7 days of supplementation and meal replacements for breakfast and lunch, with a healthy protein & vegetable based dinner.

Days 13-21

The final part of the program continues with all supplements until they are finished, along with maintenance of the meal plan.

After the 21 Days

The Purify program is a great kick start to your health journey, but some people may wish to continue with the core maintenance program for a further couple of months to gain greater results for chronic conditions, or indeed to see further controlled weight loss. This will be assessed with you as you progress towards the end of the 21 days.

My Review on the 21 Day Gut Health Re-set Program

Firstly I wanted to say how impressed I was with the 21 day Gut Health program. As somebody who is a fit runner, a pescatarian of several decades, with an overall healthy and active life, I wasn’t sure how I would benefit…but I did massively. The program is really well thought out, with plenty of time to start removing the sugar, alcohol, caffeine and other baddies in the first five days, so I experienced no major detox side effects. The 7 day intensive week is just that, but within 3-4 days of taking the meal replacements, I frankly began to like them as my taste buds changed and I no longer craved the bad stuff. Even better, you absolutely never feel hungry as the drinks keep you full and satisfied. So to the best bits, my energy levels soared, I felt happier and more productive than usual, like I was firing on all cylinders! My skin took on a bright glow and my hair felt shinier and thicker. Even better for someone who has never been regular – my bowel movements became daily and when I slept I slept deeply, something I haven’t done in years. I’m still taking some of the supplements as I love the way I feel and have continued with the 80/20 rule of the diet. The odd treat here and there, but I just don’t fancy sugar any more. I can’t recommend the program highly enough after my experience – and will definitely be using it once a year for a mini refresh of my system and to re-boot my habits. Marvellous !
